Australian Pair Sets New Record in Test Cricket
New Zealand vs Australia: Match Highlights
Cameron Green and Josh Hazlewood made history on Friday, setting a new record for Australia’s highest 10th wicket partnership in Test cricket against New Zealand.
The duo dominated New Zealand’s bowling attack in the morning session of the second day in Wellington, establishing a 116-run partnership for the final wicket with relative ease. This feat surpassed the previous record of 114 runs set by Jason Gillespie and Glenn McGrath in Brisbane in 2004.

This partnership, Australia’s sixth of 100 runs or more for the 10th wicket in Test cricket, contributed significantly to the reigning ICC World Test Championship winners posting a substantial first innings score of 383, following a challenging opening day at Basin Reserve.
Green’s unbeaten knock of 174 was a key factor in Australia’s performance. The young all-rounder played a patient innings initially, scoring his second Test century in the final over of the day, before adopting a more aggressive approach alongside Hazlewood on Friday.
Cameron Green took a one-handed stunner at gully to send back Ajinkya Rahane on 89.
The pair demonstrated sensible batting when required, with Green using his power to punish any short deliveries from the Kiwis. His performance frustrated the hosts and resulted in the fourth highest partnership of all time for the 10th wicket by an Australian duo.
This century marks the second time Green has reached triple figures for Australia in Test cricket, surpassing his previous best of 114 against India in Ahmedabad last year.
