BCCI Announces Schedule for TATA IPL 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 18th edition of this prestigious tournament is set to commence on March 22, 2025, with the grand finale scheduled for May 25, 2025.
This season will feature a total of 74 matches, played across 13 venues, and will include 12 double-header days. Afternoon matches are slated to begin at 3:30 PM IST, while evening matches will start at 7:30 PM IST.
The cricketing extravaganza will kick off with the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), hosting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22, 2025.
The first double-header of the season will take place on March 23, 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an afternoon match in Hyderabad. This will be followed by a thrilling evening clash between the two five-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will play their first match of the season against each other in Visakhapatnam on March 24, 2025. The world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will host its first game of the season when Gujarat Titans (GT) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25, 2025.
Three of the ten IPL teams will play at two venues each. DC will host their home games in Visakhapatnam and at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. RR will play two home games in Guwahati, hosting KKR and CSK, and the remainder at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. PBKS will play four home matches at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, while the picturesque Dharamsala will host three of their home games against LSG, DC, and MI at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Following the conclusion of the league stage, the Playoffs will be held in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator on May 20 and May 21, 2025, respectively. The action will then shift to Kolkata for Qualifier 2 on May 23, 2025. The all-important final of the TATA IPL 2025 will be played on May 25, 2025.
