South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has publicly expressed his regret for withdrawing from the 10th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In an official statement, Bosch apologized to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the broader cricket community for his decision.
“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community,” Bosch stated. He further acknowledged the prestige of the PSL and the disappointment his withdrawal caused, particularly to Peshawar Zalmi’s loyal fans, saying, “The PSL is a prestigious tournament, and I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down.”
Selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the tenth PSL Player Draft, Bosch recognized the tournament’s stature and the significance of his withdrawal. Instead, he joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians for the 2025 season, replacing Lizaad Williams. Bosch accepted full responsibility for his actions and the subsequent consequences, which included a penalty fine and a one-year ban from the PSL.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans,” he added.
Bosch’s statement not only reflects his understanding of the gravity of his decision but also its impact on the tournament, his team, and the fans. By accepting the consequences and expressing a desire to learn and improve, he demonstrates a level of accountability and a clear intention to rectify the situation.
