Countdown to T20 World Cup 2024: Nassau County International Cricket Stadium’s Progress Captured in New Timelapse Video
With 60 days to go until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is buzzing with anticipation. A new timelapse video, the second in a series, reveals the stadium’s construction progress over the past 30 days, bringing it one step closer to completion.
Two months into the construction of New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the excitement is palpable.
The East and West Stands, designed to accommodate over 24,000 fans, are nearing completion. The final touches are being added to the premium hospitality and media pavilions in the north and south, as well as the outfield of the modular stadium located in Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, New York, a mere 30 miles east of Manhattan.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium marks one month of construction as New York prepares for the T20 World Cup 2024.
The stadium will host all of India’s group-stage matches, including the much-anticipated India-Pakistan face-off on June 9. This will be the eighth time the two teams meet in the T20 World Cups, with previous encounters in 2007 (including the Final), 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021, and 2022.
The recent T20 World Cup matches between India and Pakistan have been unforgettable. In 2021, Pakistan achieved their first World Cup win against India in both 50-over and 20-over formats. The 2022 match was a nail-biter at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with India securing a last-ball victory.
The tournament fever is at an all-time high, as evidenced by the skyrocketing demand for tickets. Limited additional tickets for six matches at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, including India vs. Ireland on June 5 and USA vs. India on June 12, will be available from 10 AM ET on Thursday, April 4.
There will also be a limited number of tickets for all four matches at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, including the opening World Cup match between USA and Canada on June 1.
