Chris Gayle Illuminates the Empire State Building in Event’s Signature Blue & Pink

Chris Gayle, the two-time T20 World Cup champion, along with USA cricket sensation Ali Khan, initiated the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy Tour in New York last week. The duo lit up the Empire State Building in the event’s unique blue and pink hues.

The Trophy made its way to various iconic locations in New York City, including the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, and The Edge. Fans were offered a chance to capture memorable moments with the Trophy at the New York Islanders NHL game and Penn Station.

Following its city tour, the Trophy was escorted to Long Island and Nassau County. A parade of Emergency Service vehicles greeted it at the under-construction Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, which is set to host nine T20 World Cup matches in June.

Team USA Welcomes the Trophy at the Houston Space Station

The Trophy then journeyed to Texas, making a stop at the Space Station in Houston. Team USA, who were attending a preparation training camp, warmly welcomed it. The trophy then proceeded to Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium, the venue for the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup between USA and Canada in June.

The Texas Rangers, the 2023 World Series Champions, also welcomed the T20 World Cup Trophy at their home stadium in Arlington. The week in Texas concluded with the Holi Festival at Frisco, where 3,000 attendees had the chance to pose with the renowned trophy.

The Trophy Tour Continues in South America

The tour is now set to continue in South America, with stops planned in emerging cricket nations like Brazil and Argentina. The Trophy is expected to reach Jamaica in April.
