ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: Unprecedented Coverage and AI-Powered Innovations by ICC TV
ICC TV is gearing up to provide an unparalleled viewing experience for cricket enthusiasts worldwide during the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The coverage will include live broadcasts of every match, a comprehensive world feed service for licensees, and the launch of an AI-supported vertical feed, a first in cricket broadcasting.
With an aim to bring all 55 matches across 28 days of action to fans, the extensive coverage will feature a pre-match show, an innings interval programme, and a post-match wrap-up. The event will commence on 1 June with hosts USA taking on Canada in Dallas.
Building on the success of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, ICC TV will introduce an AI-supported vertical feed in collaboration with Disney Star, Quidich Innovation Labs, and NEP. This innovative coverage is designed to engage casual fans with an intuitive viewing experience optimized for mobile devices.
A distinguished commentary panel featuring cricketing legends will provide insights and analysis, ensuring the fans get to experience the game in all its glory from the nine host locations across the USA and West Indies.
Esteemed broadcasters Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, Mel Jones, Harsha Bhogle, and Ian Bishop will spearhead a dynamic team of commentators for this year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
They will be joined by Aaron Finch, who led Australia to victory in 2021, and other former T20 World Cup winners such as Dinesh Karthik, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Samuel Badree, Carlos Brathwaite, Steve Smith, and Lisa Sthalekar.
Also sharing their expert insights throughout the event will be previous ICC global event winners Ricky Ponting, Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Ramiz Raja, Eoin Morgan, Tom Moody and Wasim Akram.
American commentator James O’Brien, also known as Jomboy, will be making his World Cup debut, aiming to provide context around the games for American audiences.
Other cricket stalwarts joining the team include Dale Steyn, Graeme Smith, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock and Katey Martin.
The lineup across the US and the Caribbean is completed with some of the world’s leading cricket broadcasters, including Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Natalie Germanos, Danny Morrison, Alison Mitchell, Alan Wilkins, Brian Murgatroyd, Mike Haysman, Ian Ward, Athar Ali Khan, Russel Arnold, Niall O’Brien, Kass Naidoo, and former West Indies skipper Daren Ganga.

ICC TV will collaborate with production services partner Disney Star and equipment services partner NEP Broadcast Solutions. AE Live will manage the on-air graphics, enhanced by detailed cricket data analytics from Cricviz.
The broadcast will incorporate various visual enhancements and innovations. Hawk-Eye will provide off-bat tracking and Piero graphics to elevate game analysis. They will also deliver DRS services, including ball tracking and edge detection. Quidich Innovation Labs will deliver Field 360°- a virtual field model to illustrate fielding positions and strategies. They will also deliver a drone camera for stunning aerial views of the venues and surrounding areas, and a roving buggy cam for ground-level perspectives, while Spidercam will offer an aerial view of the action. A cine-style shallow depth of field roving camera will also bring the atmosphere from the stands closer to our viewers.
In addition to live match coverage, ICC TV will produce extensive non-live content, distributed to partners. This content will include daily player profiles, team features, match previews, venue spotlights, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, allowing fans to experience the excitement of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup up close.
