ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-up Fixtures Unveiled
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the schedule for the warm-up matches of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The matches will be played from Monday, 27 May to Saturday, 1 June across various venues in the USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
The 16 warm-up matches will be hosted at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas, Broward County Stadium in Florida, and Queen’s Park Oval and Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.
Seventeen teams will participate in these warm-up games. Notably, South Africa will be playing an intra-squad match on the 29th in Florida.
The official anthem for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, ‘Out of this World’ by Sean Paul and Kes, has also been released.
The warm-up matches will consist of 20 overs per side and will not carry international T20 status, thereby allowing teams to field all members of their 15-player squad.
In a significant change from the previous cycle, teams can now opt to play up to two warm-up matches, depending on their arrival time at the event.
The match between the West Indies and Australia at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, May 30 will be open to fans. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.t20worldcup.com or at box offices located at the National Cricket Centre and Queen’s Park Oval from May 16 onwards.
