ICC Mourns the Loss of Former PCB Chief, Shaharyar Khan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed profound grief over the demise of Shaharyar Khan, the former head of Pakistan cricket, who passed away at the age of 89.

Shaharyar, a seasoned diplomat, held the position of Chair at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) twice, first from 2003 to 2006 and then from 2014 to 2017. He also represented the PCB on the ICC Board during his tenure.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed his condolences in a statement, saying, “The cricket fraternity is deeply saddened by this news. Shaharyar was an influential figure who made significant contributions to the growth and development of the sport over the years.

“His diplomatic skills were instrumental in his effective leadership of cricket administration in Pakistan. He was also a highly esteemed member of the ICC Board. On behalf of the ICC, I extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and our colleagues at the PCB.”
