NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League 2025 continues to redefine T20 batting standards as Punjab Kings (PBKS) demolished records at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The visitors unleashed a batting masterclass against Gujarat Titans (GT), posting a staggering 243/5 – the highest-ever T20 total at this prestigious venue.
The previous record at this ground belonged to Team India, who had scored 234/4 against New Zealand in 2023. PBKS not only eclipsed this benchmark but also registered the highest total ever against Gujarat Titans, comfortably surpassing Delhi Capitals’ 224/4 from last season.
This monumental score represents Punjab Kings’ second-highest total in IPL history, behind only their extraordinary 262/2 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens last season, further cementing their reputation as one of the league’s most destructive batting units.
Leading the charge was skipper Shreyas Iyer, who announced his arrival in spectacular fashion with an unbeaten 97 off just 42 deliveries.
