Ireland and Thailand Secure Resounding Victories in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier

Both Ireland and Thailand showcased stellar performances in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier, with Ireland securing a semi-final spot in Group B and Thailand keeping their semi-final hopes alive in Group A.

Ireland vs Vanuatu

With a comprehensive win over Vanuatu, Ireland booked their place in the Group B semi-final. This marks their third consecutive win in the tournament, placing them firmly at the top of their group.

Vanuatu, who were asked to bat first, started off strong but soon lost momentum after the dismissal of their top scorer, Valenta Langiatu. Despite a promising start, Vanuatu’s middle and lower orders struggled against Ireland’s disciplined bowling, resulting in a final score of 88 for nine.

Ireland’s Eimear Richardson was named Player of the Match for her brilliant bowling spell, taking three wickets for just eight runs. In response, Ireland’s opening pair of Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter led their team to victory with an 82-run stand.

Thailand vs USA

Thailand, on the other hand, bounced back from their opening defeat against Sri Lanka with a comprehensive victory over the USA. Their bowlers dominated the match, leaving the USA’s batters on the back foot throughout the innings.

Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong was the standout performer, taking four wickets for just 12 runs and earning the Player of the Match title. In response, Thailand reached their target with ease, losing only one wicket in the process.
