Laura Wolvaardt Shatters Records with Stellar ODI Century
South African opener, Laura Wolvaardt, continues to dazzle in the ongoing bilateral series against Sri Lanka, scoring her second ODI century in consecutive matches. Her unbeaten 184 in the third and final ODI propelled South Africa to a formidable 301.
During the third ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship series in Potchefstroom, Wolvaardt set a new record for the highest individual score by a South African in women’s ODIs.
Following her century in the T20I leg of the tour, Wolvaardt also notched up a hundred in the second ODI in Kimberley last Saturday.
On Wednesday, Wolvaardt added another century to her impressive tally, leading South Africa to a commanding total with a spectacular knock.
Wolvaardt and Lara Goodall set the stage with a brisk century opening stand, with the captain leading the charge from the outset. She reached her century at a run-a-ball pace, before accelerating in the final overs.
