Following a convincing 4-1 victory over Zimbabwe in the recent T20I home series, Bangladesh has unveiled its 15-member squad for the upcoming global event.
The team includes seasoned all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who made a comeback to T20I cricket after nearly a year’s hiatus. Shakib demonstrated his prowess in the final two T20Is against Zimbabwe, notably taking four wickets in the fourth match.
The 15-player squad for the T20 World Cup holds no major surprises, with young fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib earning his spot after two matches against Zimbabwe.
Left-arm fast bowler Shoriful Islam has also been included by the selectors, following his rest during the final two matches against Zimbabwe. Afif Hossain Dhrubo and Hasan Mahmud will accompany the team as reserves.
In the upcoming event, Bangladesh finds itself in Group D, alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and Nepal. Their first match is scheduled against Sri Lanka in Dallas on June 7.
