Nepal’s Strong Squad for T20 World Cup Return
Leading a youthful Nepal team, Rohit Paudel is set to make a splash at the T20 World Cup. Their first match is scheduled for June 4 against The Netherlands in Texas.
The selection didn’t hold any major surprises, with players being chosen based on their performance in the ACC Premier Cup in Oman and against the touring West Indies A side in Kirtipur.
Paudel has been at the forefront, wielding his bat with authority and scoring a century against the visitors in the first match of the five-game series. All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, fresh from his world record-tying feat of hitting six sixes in an over against Qatar in April, will be a versatile player in the batting order. Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh are also expected to contribute significantly.

Gulshan Jha, who also played in the U19 World Cup earlier this year, joins several other young players in the squad. Nineteen-year-old Pratis GC has also retained his place in the senior team.
Sompal Kami, the only player from Nepal’s 2014 debut campaign, is part of the squad for the 2024 edition. The fast bowling all-rounder is joined by fan-favorite Karan KC as the senior members of the team.
Leading Nepal’s spin attack is left-arm orthodox spinner Lalit Rajbanshi.
