Shreyas Iyer, who amassed 530 runs in 11 matches during the last Cricket World Cup on home soil, has expressed his readiness to bat at any position for India in the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
A pivotal figure in India’s ODI lineup, Iyer has consistently delivered strong performances since his debut in December 2017, adapting to various roles in the middle order.

In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, Iyer stated, “I’m flexible and ready to bat anywhere in the batting order. KL (Rahul) and I played crucial roles in the middle during the World Cup. We had a great season together, though we couldn’t execute our plans in the final against Australia as we wanted to. It will be a proud moment for me if I am selected for the Champions Trophy squad to represent the country.”
With an impressive average of 47.5, Iyer has accumulated 2421 runs in 62 ODIs, including five centuries and 18 fifties.

During the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup, the dynamic right-handed batter scored back-to-back centuries, including one in the semifinal, as India advanced to the final unbeaten. The 30-year-old was the third-highest run-scorer for India, trailing only Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Iyer last appeared in international cricket in August during India’s tour of Sri Lanka, a three-match ODI series.
The Champions Trophy is set to commence on February 19, with India grouped alongside New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Pakistan in Group A.
