Rohit Sharma’s Heartwarming Exchange with Rishabh Pant Goes Viral Ahead of IPL 2025 Clash

A heartwarming moment between Mumbai Indians’ former captain Rohit Sharma and Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant stole the spotlight on the eve of their Indian Premier League 2025 clash at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

A video shared by Mumbai Indians on social media captured Pant surprising Rohit by hugging him from behind while he was engaged in a chat with LSG mentor Zaheer Khan. The clip quickly went viral, showcasing the camaraderie between the two Indian cricket stars.

In the video, Rohit can be heard saying, “Jo karna tha, maine kiya barabar. Abhi mereko koi karne ki jarurat nahi hai,” before Pant playfully interrupted him with a cheerful “Haanji!” and embraced him. This lighthearted exchange added a touch of warmth ahead of a crucial fixture for both teams.

MI, now led by Hardik Pandya, and LSG, under Pant’s captaincy, have had inconsistent starts to the season, each winning just one of their three matches. Mumbai Indians’ batting struggles and the absence of Jasprit Bumrah remain significant concerns. On the other hand, LSG will rely on the continued good form of Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh to bolster their performance.

Historically, LSG has dominated their head-to-head record against MI, leading 5-1. Mumbai Indians will be eager to shift the momentum when they face off on Friday, April 12, 2025.
