Sean Paul and Kes Collaborate for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Official Anthem
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the official anthem for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with just 50 days remaining until the tournament’s opening match on June 1. The event will be co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA.
The anthem, set to be released in the upcoming weeks, is produced by Michael “Tano” Montano. The song will be accompanied by a film clip featuring several globally recognized superstars.
As the countdown to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 begins, a sneak peek of the official tournament anthem has been shared, featuring well-known superstars.
Sean Paul, a leading figure in the music industry for over two decades, expressed his excitement about the anthem. He aims to encapsulate the essence of Caribbean music with an international touch.
“Cricket has always been a significant part of our culture. I’m honoured to record the official anthem for the T20 World Cup,” said Paul. “I’m a big fan of Kes and the track will feature a blend of Caribbean dance, international vibes, and Soca – it will be a true anthem for people to sing out and feel the spirit of unity.”
Kees Dieffenthaller, globally known as Kes and the lead singer of Trinidad and Tobago-based Kes the Band, plans to bring a unique vibe to the tournament through the anthem.
“Our mission has always been about uniting worlds, so merging cricket, which is dear to us in the Caribbean, with music is a potent combination. Big thanks to Sean Paul, Tano, and the entire team for creating this musical vibe,” said Kes. “I can’t wait for everyone to sing along to this worldwide anthem and bring the party to stadiums across the West Indies and USA.”
ICC General Manager, Marketing and Communications, Claire Furlong, expressed her anticipation for the artists’ work on a song that will resonate with cricket fans globally.
“We are thrilled to have two globally recognised artists, Sean Paul and Kes, who are at the pinnacle of their genres, produce our tournament anthem. This will set the tone for the biggest cricket carnival spectacle ever,” said Furlong. “Fans can expect a song that will reflect the Caribbean identity, while retaining universal appeal for global cricket fans, themed around the event’s marketing campaign ‘Out of this World’.”
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour 2024 will continue in the lead-up to the tournament, moving to Barbados, the venue of the tournament final on June 29, after previous visits to parts of the USA and South America.
Party-stand tickets for Caribbean fixtures will be available from 10am AST on Monday, April 15 at tickets.t20worldcup.com.
