Sri Lanka Announces Star-Studded Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
Wanindu Hasaranga, who was appointed as the Sri Lanka T20I captain in December of the previous year, is set to lead the team in the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, to be held in West Indies and USA. Charith Asalanka, a middle-order batter, has been chosen as his vice-captain.
The Sri Lankan team is bolstered by the return of seasoned player Angelo Mathews, who made a comeback to the T20I setup in January this year after a hiatus of almost three years. This tournament will mark Mathews’ sixth T20 World Cup appearance, having been a part of Sri Lanka’s triumphant 2014 campaign.
