The Netherlands were the first to achieve a last-ball victory in the tournament, stunning England in 2009. Despite strong performances from England’s openers, the Netherlands managed to turn the tide and pull off a historic win at Lord’s, capitalising on an overthrow from Stuart Broad.

In 2022, India scripted one of the most memorable finishes, beating Pakistan in a last-ball thriller.
