Unveiling of Nassau County International Cricket Stadium Ahead of Men’s T20 World Cup

The state-of-the-art Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, a 34,000-seat modular venue set to host eight ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 matches, has been unveiled in New York today.

Construction has commenced this week at Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, located 30 miles east of Manhattan. The stadium, expected to be completed within three months, will accommodate 34,000 spectators, offering premium and general admission seating, VIP and hospitality suites, a party deck, and cabanas, setting the stage for the grandest cricket spectacle ever.

Modular stadiums, although a novelty in cricket, are a common sight in other sports such as Formula 1, Golf, and the Olympic Games, offering fans all the amenities expected at a global sporting event.

Designed by Populous, a renowned sports and entertainment venue architecture firm, the stadium boasts a design pedigree that includes iconic venues like the Yankee Stadium in New York, the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Arena Event Services will provide and install the stadium infrastructure, with The Parker Company, a USA-based international sports procurement firm, managing the build on behalf of T20 Inc.

The venue, conveniently located near New York City, will feature a dedicated fan zone with diverse food and beverage outlets and top-tier media and broadcast areas, promising a world-class experience for all attendees at the largest ICC event ever.

Sustainability is a key focus of the project, with grandstands from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix being repurposed for the T20 World Cup venue. Infrastructure work is set to begin in February.

The wicket, a drop-in square type used globally, is currently being curated in Florida and will be transported to New York in early May. Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions is overseeing the development of the pitches, while the LandTek Group, US-based sports turf experts, are delivering the outfield.

Fans will have the chance to witness history, with eight ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 matches scheduled at the venue between 3 and 12 June, including the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan match, and host USA vs India.
