West Indies’ Hayley Matthews and Pakistan’s Spinner Ascend in Latest ICC Rankings
Hayley Matthews of West Indies and a spinner from Pakistan have made significant strides in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings. Matthews’ performance in the recent T20I series against Pakistan has propelled her into the top five in all three T20I rankings categories, while the Pakistani spinner is closing in on the No.1 spot for T20I bowlers.
Matthews was awarded Player of the Series in West Indies’ 4-1 triumph over Pakistan in their five-game T20I series. The 26-year-old all-rounder has moved up to third in the updated T20I batter rankings, advanced to fifth in the bowler rankings, and continues to lead the all-rounder category after a stellar series against Pakistan, amassing 205 runs and taking seven wickets.
West Indies’ Shemaine Campbelle and Afy Fletcher have also made progress in their respective categories, with Campbelle moving up 16 spots to 70th for batters and Fletcher climbing 16 places to 25th for bowlers. Meanwhile, Pakistan will be encouraged by the performances of their players who have made significant gains in the T20I bowler rankings.
Women’s T20I Batter Rankings
Left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal has moved up one place to third, trailing England’s Sophie Ecclestone, after taking seven wickets in the series. Fast bowler Fatima Sana has risen seven spots to 26th following her five-wicket haul against the West Indies.

There have also been notable performances from players from India and Bangladesh in their ongoing series in Sylhet. India’s Shafali Verma has moved up three places to 12th in the T20I batters list after scoring 84 runs from four innings, while her teammate Radha Yadav has climbed 16 spots to equal 30th for T20I bowlers after taking seven wickets at an average just over 10.
Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce has also made significant strides in the latest T20I rankings following her standout performances at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier event in Abu Dhabi. Bryce has moved up 14 places to equal 25th on the list for batters, improved 19 spots to equal 52nd for T20I bowlers, and jumped two places to ninth for all-rounders.
